Hannah Pilnick - Her child

Her child

I have a morning routine I'm deeply connected to.

One of the things I do β€” I look at each member of my family and do healing work for them, one by one, in turn.

That morning it was Nadav's turn, my husband.

As I looked at him, I saw myself reaching toward him, gently stroking his face.

And suddenly, without meaning to β€” his late mother came to mind. I thought of her. I saw her before my eyes.

And then one thought stopped me completely: She entrusted me with her son.

The most precious thing in her world β€” for 19 years now β€” in my hands.

What I felt in that moment

I felt I owed her. I wanted her to know I would always take care of her child.

In an instant I wanted to be more devoted to him: to give him more attention, more love, to see more of the good in him. To treat him exactly the way every mother wants her child to be treated.

The most precious thing in her world β€” for 19 years now β€” in my hands.

And then another thought arrived β€” one that connected me to motherhood, to children, to something we're constantly sowing without always being aware of it.

What we sow today in our relationship β€” our children will reap in theirs.

And every day we choose again how we treat our partner. Not just as a partner β€” but as someone else's child.

Wishing you to love your partner as only a mother can,
