How would you react if a good friend knocked on your door and told you that tomorrow you must run a marathon?
Surely you would laugh and say to them: "What’s wrong with you, are you crazy?"
And if they insisted, you would reply that it’s out of the question, that you don’t want to, and even if you did – you’re not capable, because you’re not trained physically, mentally, or emotionally for such a run.
All human beings run. The difference is in the pace, the rests between runs, and the distance they will cover.
Sometimes, in a single day, we are required to go on a run we don’t want to take, and we aren’t truly trained for it – neither physically, emotionally, nor mentally.
This happens when someone is sick, when there’s an accident, loss, financial crisis, or addiction, when the ground shifts beneath our feet.
And if we do it anyway – we will get hurt, exhausted, lose our strength, and sometimes not even finish the run.
Just as anyone who wants to run a marathon must train every day, we must train in healing as well.
The human being is made up of a physical body, a mental body, and an energetic body. To maintain health and gather strong life force, we need to work daily with all three bodies, training them so they are ready even when life “shifts into a higher gear.”
Crises, pain, and difficulty are part of life. But there is a big difference between arriving at the race tired, exhausted, and untrained, and facing them with inner resilience.
To maintain health, prevent suffering – and even heal it – we must practice self-healing every day. Yes, especially when we are healthy.
Ask yourself: what can I do this week to increase my physical resilience, mental resilience, and inner cleanliness?
Wishing you strength and inner peace,
❤️ Hannah
