Before falling asleep I thought to myself how good things were. Everything felt calm. And yet, for a whole week, I've been waking up at dawn, unable to fall back asleep.
Something inside me must be under pressure, otherwise this wouldn't be happening. I'm usually pretty in tune with myself, so I couldn't figure out where it was coming from, and I didn't like that.
So before falling asleep again, I asked my soul for guidance. And the next morning, I woke up from a dream.
In the dream, a new book had been published. On the cover β an illustration of a man with a long beard, his head bowed. The book's title: The man who told me: "You mustn't cry anymore".
I then discovered (in the dream) that the author was a therapist who had said exactly that to his patient - and she followed his advice, stopped crying, and then sank into a deep depression that lasted for years.
I woke up from the dream shaken, and then I remembered β right before falling asleep I'd asked something. But what was it? What had I asked?
And then it dawned on me. I asked: βWhat do I need to do to protect my health?β
And the answer was waiting for me, as an important message: to protect your health, it's important that you stop suppressing what you feel and allow yourself to feel deeply again; allow yourself to cry.
Men don't always know what to do when a woman cries in front of them. Some of them get scared. It's important to teach them that crying isn't collapsing. It's cleansing. There's nothing to be scared of - you just need to let it happen.
A strong woman isn't one who holds herself back. She's the one who gives herself full permission to feel, without shame and without fear.
And then she discovers that she cries out of sheer joy, cries when things are hard, cries when she watches her children succeed β and cries too when love is simply too big to contain.
So if you too have noticed that your tears disappeared somewhere along the way β stop for a moment and ask yourself why.
Wishing you the freedom to feel and cry,
